Industrial Loft Renovation — Design by Fluent Studio

An industrial-era wool shed, gutted across two levels and rebuilt into one of Melbourne's most considered loft apartments. Fluent Studio's design set a high bar, raw industrial bones against precise detail, and our job was to hit it on every surface. The Design Files thought we did. So do the owners.

The Forever Home

Farmhouse Extension & Renovation — Design by Peter Wright Architects

A farmhouse on 2,400 square metres, extended and renovated to a Peter Wright Architects design that made the whole property make sense. No expense was spared and it shows in the materials, the proportions, and the view from every window. The owners host family constantly now. That's what it was built for.

Rebuilt From the Storm

Residential Renovation & Extension

This one is personal. The old place was Mum's little beach shack, and when the flood went through it was damaged beyond saving. Instead of patching it up, we made the call to rebuild it properly, tying the new build into the tower and bungalow that survived. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a central deck where the whole family gathers, looking straight out at the water with nothing in front of it. We built Mum her dream beach house.

A Place for Men to Heal

Commercial Conversion — Design by Lauren McKillop

A brick terrace converted into a fully soundproofed psychology practice, built specifically as a space where men feel safe enough to do the work. Warmth, function and acoustic integrity drove every decision: honed marble at the front desk, microcement bathrooms, every room made to welcome rather than intimidate. Lauren McKillop's design deserved careful hands, and that's what it got.
